This past Sunday, Easter Sunday, I called my dad to wish him a happy Easter and to check up on how my mom was doing.  One of the first things is said to me was, “I have some good news, Mom is home right now.”  I was shocked.  The last time I talked to him, a few days before we left for Florida for vacation, they were working toward an April 20 transfer for her.  That she would need to leave the current home she was in and go to another one which accepted Medicade.  For her to be home now was amazing.

What happened was that since she was not using the feeding tube anymore, then medicare decided they didn’t need to be paying for her to be staying there anymore, so they discharged her.  She is doing well right now.  Medicare is paying for in home assistance right now, she is still eating, and I even had a chance to talk with her.  Her voice is weak, but we were able to carry on a conversation.  As I was talking to her she told me that she got out to church that morning!  Another miracle.  Doctors didn’t give her much hope of regaining her voice or being able to eat or getting out.  I guess the Lord had different plans.

Thank you all so much for praying for her.  She probably will be going back to a nursing facility in a few weeks, once medicare stops paying for the in home assistance.  But it’s great that she’s had the chance to be back home and to get out to church on Easter Sunday.  God is good!

  1. YES! GOD IS A WONDERFUL AND AWESOME GOD HE IS THE GREAT HEALER. THANK YOU LORD!

  2. As I recall, her attitude that day was that she was not going to be denied attending with her son Jim’s family at Shadyrest Bible Church for Easter Sunday. May I have that same perseverence when I am ill, that Mom has shown these past months!
