On Monday I went with Pastor Timothy on a tour of Kibera.
Pastor Timothy pastors one of the largest churches in Kibera.
We walked for over three hours as he led me through narrow alley ways between homes, down the busy main streets with shops everywhere (nothing like what you picture in the US), up and down, in and out (I would have never found my way back home if we got separated).
He led in through places he has never taken our team.
He led me to the edge of Kibera where I took his picture on the bridge.
I was amazed as we walked at the amount of people who knew him.
He stopped and talked to many, sharing the gospel with them.
He stopped to encourage people from his church and introduce me to them (I even made a little girl cry because she was afraid of me because I was white).
He has lived and ministered in Kibera for many years.
He now runs a training center as well where he trains pastors.
It was an amazing experience to walk along with a man who has such a heart for the Lord and for his people.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I had the privilege of meeting Pastor Humphrey.
I went on visitation with Joe and Kaitlin and their pastor, Pastor Humphrey.
He pastors a small church in Kibera where some of our team members do their internship.
Once again, I found a man who has a love for the Lord and a love for people.
We visited someone from his church, we visited a family who just came to know the Lord and we visited a home for street boys.
It was amazing (once he found out I was a pastor he had me pray everywhere we went)!
We ended our time at his church where I prayed for him and his ministry.

The people here are great.
I have loved the time here.
I can’t believe I only have 2 more days here.
  Thanks for your prayers.
