Vicki took off for England on Thursday night.
She is ministering to our FYM team over there as well as looking at future ministry opp
ortunities for teams to come.
I am so thankful that God has given her this opportunity.
We have an all girls team over there at present, so she was the perfect person to go over and help get things established and bring some encouragement to the team and leadership.
You can read about her ministry by checking out her blog.
I have a link to her page on the left.

So, with her being over there, I am here at home with the 2 boys.
Our apartment now just has the 3 guys.
  The boys think it’s great!
No mom to tell them to pick up, clean up, take a shower or go to bed.
Any guesses what the place is going to look like in a week’s time? (Don’t worry, we’ll have it all cleaned up before mom comes home and we really do miss her).

During this time while she’s away, I am reminded of how much I love her.
Not just because of the things she does around the house, but the times we share together.
Sure, I’ve been able to call her and e-mail her, but it’s not the same as being with her and talking to her at any time.
  The house is quie
ter and the nights are lonelier, but I know she is doing what God has asked her to do.

I have also been reminded about my relationship with the Lord.
I don’t want to have a relationship with Him just because of the things He does for me, but I want the relationship because of the times we can share together.
I am so thankful that He doesn’t go away for a while, that I don’t have to call or e-mail, but that He’s by my side every moment.
In reading through Ecclesiastics this morning, Solomon was searching for meaning in life and couldn’t find it.
His conclusion from his searching is stated in the next to the last verse of the book, “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecc. 12:13).
And what is His greatest command?
It’s to love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind (Matt. 22:37).

  1. Aww, Dave, I think it is really sweet of you to share about how much you love and miss Vicki. We’re really glad that your sacrifice means we get to spend some time with her though. She’s been an awesome blessing and encouragement to our England team! I praise the Lord for both of you and all that you do for us 🙂
