“Victory is not me overcoming sin, or the devil, or the world. True lasting victory is only found when Jesus overcomes me.”

I read this phrase many times and tried to let it sink in. As long as I can figure out how to solve my problems, I work at it. I look to myself. Then, when I can’t do it myself, I go to God. We need to look to God first, totally surrender to Him. Let Him overcome every area in our lives not just the areas we want to give to Him, but ALL areas.

I wander how many times difficulties have come into our lives because the Lord has delivered us into the hands of trials to get us to the place where we will cry out to Him. True victory in our lives comes when we let Jesus overcome us.

  4. So true! Worked on a project recently in Elk River that just kept getting worse and worse, I think my reaction was “I don’t want Christ involved in this mess!” Things ended well, but I should have turned to the Lord from the beginning.
