I talked with my Dad yesterday and the first thing he said to me was that he had good news about mom’s health.  She is improving and actually ate a meal yesterday!  It was the first real food she’s had since December 9.  The doctors were amazed and a nurse commented that she must have a lot of people praying for her.  Thank you for all your prayers on mom’s behalf.

Last week as the doctor examined her and her throat, he saw improvement.  He had her drink and it went down okay.  He then had her try some liquid foods, stuff that was pureed.  She handled that okay as well.  On Monday he examined her again and gave the okay for her to eat whatever she wanted!  Amazing.  Praise the Lord for this miracle.  When she first was admitted to the hospital back in December because of difficulty in swallowing, the doctors didn’t give much hope at all of any improvement.  They told them this was the natural progression of Parkinsons.  So the feeding tube was inserted and told she would be on it the rest of her life.  God answered prayers and reversed it.  They have now stopped the feeding through the tube.

She is also able to do a little bit more now.  She’s doing crossword puzzles, playing board games, and doing pretty much what she was doing before going into the hospital.  Dad is now thinking she might be able to come back to the apartment when her time is done at the nursing home.  She can stay there until April 20.

Anyway, thanks for your prayers.  God is faithful.
