What is the purpose of our time on earth? Is it to acquire the most possessions that you can, to attain the biggest status, to achieve the most success or to experience happiness?

Our church is presently going through the study “40 Days of Community” by Rick Warren. For 40 days, everyone from Middle School on up, is learning what God says about loving others and learning how to apply that love to each other. I have truly been convicted about the way that I show my love to others. I realized that I do not really know how to love others the way that Christ is talking about.

1 John 4:11, “Since God so loved us, we ought to love one another.”

John 13:34, “A new command I give you, love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

1 Corinthians 14:1, “Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it, because it does.”

If we fail to learn to love God and others we have missed the reason God created us and placed us on this planet.  I want to love like Christ and not miss my reason for living.

  1. Thanks Vicki for the awesome reminder of how we are to spend our vapor of a life hear on earth, by LOVING!
Love is not a feeling, it is an action! God demonstrated this by sending his own son to die for us! True joy here on this earth is ahieved by loving people thru our actions as Christ did! Our life here on earth does depend on it!
