This is the start of something very exciting to me. I get to blog each day and let you know what is going on in my life. As I start this journal, I am getting ready to go to England in a week to teach the FYM’s there on the topic of Spiritual Gifts. It has been a very challanging time to get ready for this. I have been reading Romans 12 each day in preparation for it. What I have found is that in order to use our gifts to their fullest, I need to make sure that I am in the right relationship with God. He has given us each gifts to be used for Him, but to use them to their fullest, Romans 12 list all kinds of things we need to do first. Read the chapter and see for yourself.
Just looking at the first verse it is jammed packed with advice. We need to offer our bodies to God as a full sacrifice, not just part of our bady but ALL of it. Our bodies also need to be Holy before Him and Acceptable. That is a tough challenge, to keep our lives Holy, without spot or blemish. Every time we neglect to love someone then we blemish our bodies. Every time we neglect to care about someone, we blemish our bodies. Every time we neglect to spend time with our creator and get to know Him better, we blemish our bodies. I desire to stop blemishing my body and offer it to Him spotless. It is not easy, it is a full time job. But this is a full time job that I can’t afford not to take. I don’t know about you guys, but this is a full time job that is worth all the overtime hours I could put into it. What about you, are you going to offer your body Holy and Acceptable to Him?
The verse goes on to say that when you offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, that this is a act of worship to Him. You mean that when you sing a few songs once a week in church that is not enough worship to God? Not even close. We need to worship God everyday, all day long. And a good way to do that is to make sure our bodies are without blemish and holy.
