Here is a post from Kristy Ellsworth, FYM to Swaziland. The boy in the picture is not
Thuli’s little boy but another boy that has alcohol poisoning at the Care Center that our FYM’s volunteer at.
Kristy Says:
Part of my journal entry from January 16, 2006, our first full day of being in Swaziland:
“I met a woman today – she told me about how stressed she is because she has a two month old baby, her husband has died and she is HIV positive. She doesn’t have enough money to buy formula so she has no choice but to breast feed. She kept saying she has no other options. It was completely heart breaking.”
This was my first face to face encounter with the devastating effects of AIDS in Swaziland. In writing this journal entry I had no idea that the Lord would continue to put Thuli in my path. Our team has been in prayer for her throughout the entire semester. The Lord has used our relationship with her in a way that has drawn us all closer to his calling for the team. “The Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted and announce that the captives will be release and prisoners will be freed.” – Isaiah 61-1
In praying for Thuli and her baby Sangosi we have seen God answer in mighty ways. When Sangosi was sick God provide all that he needed to become well again, and when her family has been hungry God has always provided food for them. Thuli is a beautiful servant to our Father. She works at the care point cooking for the orphans daily now. Our team has been blessed to know and serve with one of his beloved. Please continue to pray for Thuli, Sangosi and her two other children.
