This week we accepted our 80th person into the FYM ministry. 80 people! That’s 20 more than we had out this past spring. That’s 80 disciple makers. That’s 80 people who will be discipled and who will be making disciples. To me, that’s exciting! For those of you who know me, you know that discipleship is one of my passions. I love to see people being discipled and becoming like Christ. I love the fact that as these 80 go out (and we might have a few more added to that 80 yet) that they will be discipled and then they will be discipling others as well. It’s a multiplication thing. We want to make disciple makers.
Over the next few months I will be helping these 18-24 year olds prepare to go out. They are all at different stages in their spiritual growth. I want to help them get ready for these nine months they will be out. I want them to be ready to disciple others. I want them to be ready to be discipled by our staff. I want them to be ready for what might be thrown at them by the enemy. I want to see them thrive out there.
I am excited about the possibilities which lie ahead for them. I wish I had the opportunity to do something like this in my early years. It’s a life-changing experience for everyone.
It is very exciting indeed.
